Environmental Leadership AwardThe Environmental Leadership Award is given to a NASUF member who has demonstrated sustained contributions to the advancement of use of alternative fuels, reducing fleet carbon impacts, and has contributed to the overall alignment of their fleet operation with environmental management goals. Nomination ProcessNominations for the 2026 NASUF Environmental Leadership Award are now closed. The award recipient will be announced and recognized during the 2026 NASUF Fleet Workshop, September 21-24, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Who is EligibleThe nominee must be a NASUF member in good standing. CriteriaUsing specific examples, please describe how the nominee’s sustained contributions has improved their fleet’s environmental impact. Describe any written sustainability polices or programs in place. Judges will evaluate the nomination utilizing the following criteria. A nominee does not need to have initiatives for all the criteria: 1. Significant advancement to reduce overall fleet carbon emissions and other environmental impacts:
2. Unique, innovative, or creative approaches to deploy the strategies listed above.
3. Established and achieved specific, measurable results.
4. The advancement of EPACT and US DOE or other state/local jurisdictional goals for improving air quality, environmental impacts, and reducing dependence on foreign oil.
